Betty June Firestone

Betty June Kirkland Firestone, age 59, a resident of Benton, passed away Monday, January 8, 2007 in a Chattanooga hospital. She was a loving and devoted person. She was formerly a nurse at Woods Memorial Hospital for seventeen years. She was a member of the Pine Ridge Baptist Church.

Mrs. Firestone was the daughter of the late Clyde Kirkland and Lois Newton Kirkland and was also preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Faye Kirkland.

She is survived by her husband, James (Pete) Firestone of Benton; children and spouses: Ricky and Mindy McTaggart of Harrison, Shelia and Lynn Phillips of Cleveland; step-sons, Kirk Firestone of Denver, Colorado and Kent Firestone of Cleveland; grandsons: Matthew McTaggart, Michael McTaggart and Reed Phillips; granddaughter, Sage Balilies; brother and spouse: Don and Debbie Kirkland of Benton; sister and spouse: Joann and Jimmy Lewis of Benton; nephews: Pac, and Grant, Nices: Patti, and Kristia.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Floyd Boggess and Reverend Randall Headrick officiating. Interment will follow in Chestuee Baptist Church Cemetery with Pac Lewis, Grant Kirkland, Tracy McAbbe, Tracy Phillips, Boyd Firestone and Hoyt Firestone serving as pallbearers.

Her family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
