Anna Mae Burke Evans, age 86, a resident of Crossville and a former resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, September 18, 2006 in Pleasant Hill, Tennessee. She was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church. She was a retired seamstress with American Uniform. Mrs. Evans was the daughter of the late John and Zora Runion Burke and was also preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Plemons and her second husband, L.B. Evans; two brothers: Raymond Burke and Roy Lee Burke; one sister, Irene Wilson.
She is survived by five children: Inez and Bobby Haun of Madisonville, Margaret A. and Hugh Don Evans of Crossville, Brenda Richardson of Lakeworth, Florida and Wilma Jean and Harold Felty of Ringgold, Georgia, Frank James Plemons of Ocalla Florida: eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Hazel Byrd of Mims, Florida; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Scott Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Benton Cemetery with the white dove release ceremony concluding the service.
Her family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
