Beatrice Irene Evans Eaves, a resident of Cookeville and formerly of Delano, passed away on her one hundred and first birthday, Thursday, October 11, 2007 in a Cookeville healthcare facility.
Mrs. Eaves was the oldest member of Patty Church of Christ in Delano. She greeted everyone with a smile and was well known for her hospitality. She loved gardening and enjoyed providing the church with bouquets of flowers each Sunday.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jordan Eaves; son, Leonard Eaves; daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Herman Morrow; sister, Mrytle Wooten and Flora Lovingood; brothers, Lester, Loris and Marshal Evans.
She is survived by son and daughter in law; Floyd and Maxine Eaves of Delano, daughters and son-in-law: Sandra Thrasher of Cookeville, Gladys and Jasper Rogers of Dalton, GA; seven grandchildren: Ronnie Morrow of Charleston, Janice Morrow of Knoxville, Judy Rogers of Benton, Patty Waycaster and Beth Brock of Dalton, GA, Heather Bain and Heath Hamilton of Cookeville; fourteen great grandchildren: Ann Rogers, Denise Longley, Michael Rogers, Mark Rogers, Allyson Hannah, Lindsey Surlas, Scott Morrow, Leslie Morrow, Erica Morrow, Blake Waycaster, Megan Waycaster, Austin Brock, Tyler Brock, Alyson Bain; eight great great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Stella Evans of Akron, OH and Jean Eaves of Delano and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 P.M: Saturday, October 13, 2007 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Ministers Franklin Hyberger and Danny Rogers officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 P.M Sunday in Benton Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
