Mamie Estella Dunn

Mamie Estella Brock Dunn, 82, a life long resident of Benton, passed away Monday, July 28, 2008 in a local hospital. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church.

Mrs. Dunn was the daughter of the late John Jessie Brock and Edna Green Brock and was also preceded in death by her husband, H.V. Dunn and her sister, Verlie Lea.

She is survived by her two children and spouses: Milton (Dean) and Tammy Dunn of Cleveland and Peggy and Dewey Dalton of Benton; two grandchildren and spouses: Christa and Greg O'Neal of Cleveland and Jonathan and Keena Dalton of Sweetwater; two great-grandchildren: Natalie O'Neal and Emma O'Neal of Cleveland; brothers: Glenn Brock of Crandal, Georgia, Ed Brock and wife, Billie Brock and Oscar (Bud) Brock all of Cleveland; sisters: Grace Sampson and husband, James L. Sampson and Jennie Morris and husband, Taylor Morris all of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2008 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Floyd Boggess officiating. Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens with Jonathan Dalton, Greg O'Neal, Donald Dunn, Ryan Dunn, Howard Cheek and Gary Rogers serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Cantrell and Trent Cantrell. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

Her family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
