Mary Helen Cross

Mary Helen Coker Cross, age 46, a resident of Benton, passed away Monday, April 3, 2006 in an Etowah healthcare facility. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ralph and Unav Coker and one sister, Frances (Zenoba) McDonald and also two brothers: Benny Ray Coker and James Coker.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Cross of Benton; two children: Michael (Bull) Cross and wife Lisa Cross and Tonya Cross all of Benton; four grandchildren: Eryca Cross, Logan Cross, Makala Crook and Devin Lurcock; two sisters: Lucille Verhine and husband Terry Verhine of Madisonville and Sherline Coker of Rossville, GA; two brothers: J.C. Coker of Loudon and Ross Coker of Florida.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Carl Haulk officiating. Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens with the release of white doves concluding the service.

Her family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
