Juanita Mae Marks Cheek
Juanita Mae Marks Cheek, age 76, a native of Parkersburg , West Virginia, and a former resident of Cleveland for 32 years, passed away, July 20, 2006 at her home in Knoxville. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Cheek was a 1950 graduate of Camden-Clark Hospital School of Nursing and was formerly employed as a nurse at Bradley Memorial Hospital for a number of years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Marks and Ethel Williams Marks; son, David Alan Cheek; sister: Betty Lou Richards; brothers: Thomas Marks, Billy Gene Marks and Robert Dale Marks.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Eugene B. Cheek a Polk County native and current resident of Knoxville; children: Eugene Cheek, Jr. and wife, Debbie of Mooresville, NC, Terry Cheek and wife, Joann of Kennesaw, GA and Cinda Cheek Weller and husband, Gerald of Knoxville, TN; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren; sister, Ruth Ann Napier of Johnson City, TN and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2006 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Jasper Woody officiating. Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.
Her family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
