Hal Harris Burchfiel passed away March 1, 2007 in a Knoxville hospital. He was born in Sevier County, Tennessee on September 12, 1906 but had resided in Bradley County for 98 years. He was a mechanic, farmer and worked in several local factories.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 33 years, Anna Howard, his parents, William H. and Dicie Burchfiel, brothers Houston (Husky) and Arnold, sisters Ella Lethco, Mary Thompson, Ollie Hood, Josephine Lindner, Rachel Fetzer, Margaret Curtis, Kate Brock, Lena Hickey and son-in-law Donald E. Johnson and his second wife, Pauline Kimsey Brown.
He is survived by his son, William (Bill) and wife Rebecca, twin daughters, Lorraine Robinson and husband Max and Elaine Johnson; grandchildren are Dean, Gene (Karen) Burchfiel, Alan Robinson, Allison Johnson (Corey Crompton) and Chris Johnson. Great Grandchildren include Wesley (Cynthia), Mindy, Gena and Tyler Burchfiel, Trisha and Victoria Johnson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday March 3, 2007 at 5:30 p.m. in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Joel Jenkins officiating. Interment followed in Benton Station Cemetery.
