Willis "Scotty" Breeden, Jr., 62, passed away, Sunday, February 1, 2009 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Scotty was born November 5, 1946 in Athens, TN to the late Willis Breeden, Sr. and Louise Breeden of Benton. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was married to Rebecca Allison Breeden, September 7, 1968. He also retired from TVA in 2006 after 36 years of service and was an avid Radio Controlled Airplane Pilot. He was a member of the McMinn County Radio Control Association, the Confederate Air Farce in Greenville, SC and a member of Greasy Creek Baptist Church.
Including his parents Willis and Louise Breeden, he was also preceded in death by two brothers: Larry Breeden and Ricky Breeden.
Survivors include his wife Becky; two daughters and their husbands Michele and Jerry Partap and Jennifer and Brad Peterson; three grandsons: Dylan Peterson, Dustin Cain, and Hunter Peterson; two sisters Jeanne Wilcox and Sue Nanney; nephews: Chris Wilcox, James Breeden, and Rick Breeden; nieces: Stacy Wilcox, Amy Hood, and Rachel Morgan; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m., Friday, February 6, 2009 in the chapel at Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Wilfred Wright and Honorable Harry Partap officiating. Interment will follow at the new Greasy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
His family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, February 5, 2009 at the funeral home.
