Ray Junior Bishop

Ray Junior Bishop, age 68, a lifelong resident of Benton, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2007 at the family residence. Mr. Bishop was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Ocoee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Bishop and Annie Link Bishop and brother. J. C. Bishop.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hayes Bishop of Benton; children: Tammy Carver of Benton, Angela Hill of Chattanooga and Heather Elrod and husband, Chris of Cleveland; grandchildren: Catelyn Carver and Sara Carver both of Benton and Bishop Hill, Conner Hill and Hunter Hill of Chattanooga; sisters: Margaret Brancefield, Betty Jo Hutson and Anna Lou Marshall all of Cleveland and Dorothy Burris of Benton and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Kinzel Hooker and Reverend Donnie Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow at Benton Memorial Gardens with David Burris, Charles Burris, Ricky Hutson, Danny Hutson, Barry Marshall, Randall Marshall and Michael Marshall serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
