Betty Jean Cross

Betty Jean Ashe Cross, age 81, of Benton, passed away at her residence on Monday, April 1, 2019. She was born January 21, 1938, to the late Robert and Janie Harris Ashe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by children, Billy, Connie, Debbie, Brent and Mary Jane Hawkins. She is survived by her husband, Ray Cross; son, Gary Hawkins; three grandchildren; sisters, Kathleen Blankenship, Alene Young, Edith Byers, Jewel Rayburn, Sheila Byers and Peggy Miller; and brother, Dennis Ashe. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Nick Herron officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home prior to the service.  Interment will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Benton Memorial Gardens.
