Betty Fay Shelton

Betty Fay Shelton, 81, of Benton, TN passed away Tuesday night, June 30, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.

She has lived in Benton for 31 years, where she built a home with her husband and 7 children. She loved to camp, craft, scrapbook, and square dance. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family the most.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Shelton; her mother and father, Hoyte and Elender Elders; brother, Bobby Elders; daughter, Donna Shelton; grandsons, Tony, Justin, and James; and a granddaughter, Toni.

She is survived by her 6 children, Barbara (Robin) Brocksmith of Benton, Penny Pray of Benton, Donnie (Jewell) Turner of Benton, Charlotte Hardin of Benton, Michelle (Little) Keith of Benton, and Lynn (Amy) Shelton of Conyers, GA; sister, Sue Howard of Lafayette GA; brother, Sonny (Charlotte) Elders of Lafayette GA; half-sister, Wanda Carr Green of Lafayette, GA; 14 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 2 great, great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, 2020 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Spears officiating. Interment will follow at Delano Cemetery with Ross Adams, Huey Adams, Mark Sayne, Josh Eubanks, Robbie Powell, and Chris Moses serving as pallbearers.

Her family will receive friends from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2020 and Sunday, 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
