Betty Sue Thomas, 89, a lifelong resident of Benton, departed this life peacefully on April 18, 2023, at a local healthcare facility.
She was the daughter of the late Earl Jean and Grace Willson Thomas and was a graduate of Polk County High School. Ms. Sue was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed arts and crafts and was very good at drawing. A few of her fondest memories included sewing and cooking, her rolls were a family favorite. She always had cats and dogs which she loved very much.
Left to cherish her memory include her sisters, Evelyn Joyce Waits of Austin, TX, Karen Thomas “Kay” Green of Benton, TN, Dorothy Adeline Collins of Dunedin, FL, and Linda Jean Perdue of Alexandria, VA. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Monday, April 24, 2023, at Benton United Methodist Church, with Pastor Dave Whaley presiding. Interment will follow at Mount Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service at the church.
