Bobby G. Cross, Sr.

Bobby G. Cross, Sr., 84, beloved father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2021, at his Benton residence.

Bob retired from T.V.A. and was of the Baptist faith who was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Having a passion of working in the garden, he loved working with his beautiful flowers and had great enjoyment in doing yardwork.

Mr. Cross was born on July 17, 1936 to the late O.R. “Long” and Ruby Leona Chatman Cross.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Joyce Faye Cross; brothers, Fred Cross, and Ray “Bo” Cross; sisters, Betty Jean Cross, and Carolyn Blackwell.

Survivors include his beloved children, Bobby (Cheryl) Cross, Michael (Sonya) Cross and Greg (Nan) Cross; grandchildren, Christopher Cross, Josh Cross, Joseph Cross, Matthew Cross, Michael Cross, Mehgan Fiorella, Lily Cross and Luke Cross; great-grandchildren, Mason Guess, Dawson Fiorella and Campbell Fiorella, and Emma Joyce Cross; loving companion, Leona Bates; sister, Judy (Winston) Perian; brother, Willie (Peggy) Cross.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Nick Herron officiating.  Interment will follow at Benton Memorial Gardens with Michael Cross, Greg Cross, Christopher Cross, Josh Cross, Matthew Cross and Paul Bates serving as pallbearers. 

His family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
