Carolyn J. Godfrey

Carolyn J. Godfrey, 75, of Benton, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2021.

She was born on March 29, 1946, in Cleveland, Tennessee to the late Samuel Robert Diveley and Etta Faye Shannon.

Carolyn had a passion for fishing.  She enjoyed cooking and especially loved all her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her sisters, Ellen Sewell and Bobby Diveley.

Left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband of 58 years, Danny Godfrey; children, Robin (Jacob) Higgins of Old Fort, TN., Cody (Felica) Godfrey of Chatsworth, GA., and Bambie (Jeremy) Arnold of Carrollton, GA.; grandchildren, Nathan Gargala, Dustin Godfrey, Lee Godfrey, Seth Godfrey, NaCole Godfrey, Sophia Arnold and Raelyn Godfrey; great-grandchildren, Emerson Gargala, Evie Gargala, Ethan Gargala, Peyton Godfrey, and Khloe Godfrey; sister, Katherine McNabb of Benton, TN.; brother Freddy Dodson of Benton, TN.; aunt, Wilma Carrol.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 13, 2021, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home of Benton.  Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
