Cora Lou Tilson

Cora Lou Green Tilson, 76, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and friend to so many, departed this life on Friday, October 15, 2021, with her loving family by her side.

She loved her family and being with her family, loved going to church, gospel music, loved to shop.

She was preceded  in death by her mother, Gladys Price Rhodes, daughters, Tammy Free and Rita Jacobs Ledford, sister, Reba Myers, grandmother, Cora Hampton, grandfather, Dawson Cooper (DC) Hampton.

She is survived by; her husband, Richard (Sonny) Tilson, children, Roger Free, Kimberly Pollay (Troy), Rick C. Tilson (Jane), sister; Emma Lee Campbell (Ronald), and Barbara Mello (Kip), brothers, Wayne Price, Johnny Price, grandchildren; Joseph Ellis (Kristi), Brittani Thompson (Steve), Ashley Free, Stephen DeCamp (Dorothy), Becca Delk (Ryan), Jessi Sellars, Amy Henderson (Ashley) and Kelli Tilson.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 18, 2021, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Pastor Vernon Webb and Pastor Pete Morgan officiating.  Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday October 19, 2021, at Maple Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Family and friends will gather from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and/or a donation of household items to Dr. Sylvia Kruger’s office to help better the treatment of her patients.
