Dorothy Burris Gray

Dorothy Burris Gray, 86, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at Tennova Healthcare in Cleveland, TN.  She was an avid gardener and canner.  She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren.    

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Ernest Gray; parents, Milburn and Cora Green Burris; siblings, Austin Burris, Cup (Richard) Burris, Mildred Dills, Mary Cleo McDonald.

Survivors include her children, Peggy (Rex) Cooper, Michael (Melissa) Gray, Doyle (Tammy) Gray, Wilma (Buddy) Boggs, Rhonda (Ronnie Cecil) Gray; brother, Ulyless Burris (Iva Mae); sister, Edna Mae Brown (Robert Buster); grandchildren, Steven Cooper, Christopher Johnson, Stephanie (Josh) Frank, Leslie Gray, Josh Gray, Shyanne Gray, Lucus Boggs, Makenna Gray; 4 great grandchildren; special niece, Denise Sweeny; several nieces, nephews, and extended family members also survive.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home in Benton, TN with Reverend Richard Chastain officiating.  Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens.    

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
