Dwain Rodney Johnson, 51, of Benton, departed this life with his loving family by his side on November 22, 2021, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Dwain was born on October 19, 1970, in Bradley County to Christel Jackson and the late Leonard Johnson. Dwain retired as a supervisor from Mohawk Industries after 21 faithful years of service. A few of his fondest memories were spending time with his family and friends and he had a passion for working on and collecting cars. He loved spending time with his wife, kids, and grandkids and will be deeply missed.
In addition to his father Leonard Johnson, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Johnson and sister-in-law, Becky Johnson.
Left to cherish the many memories include his loving wife of 30 years, Jan Johnson; beloved sons, Justin (Lacey) Johnson, Jonathan Johnson, and Deven Johnson; cherished grandchildren, Makynlee Johnson, Paizley Johnson, and Sawyer Johnson; mother, Christel Jackson; brother, Parish Johnson; sister, Stephanie (Bill) Lupia; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 26, 2021, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Joel Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow at Cookson Creek Cemetery with Parish Johnson, Lincoln Johnson, Nathan Rogers, Andy Lusk, Anthony “Dude” Seay, Scott Corvin, John McCann, and Bill Lupia serving as pallbearers.
Family and friends will gather from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
