Erdene Edla Arp

Erdene Edla Arp departed this life, to be with the Lord, early morning March 7, 2022, at the age 87. 

Erdene was born June 26, 1934, in Chesterland, Ohio to the late William and Edla Harmon.

Throughout life Ms. Erdene enjoyed many hobbies such as, reading and she excelled at bowling, card games with family and loved to laugh a lot. Her family was the joy of her life.

Camping with her family and extended family in her early years held some of her fondest memories. Erdene had a passion for cooking and baking, her specialty was her “Apple Pita”.  One of her most cherished memories was taking a trip with her best friends for ten days out West. Ms. Arp and her husband of almost 71 years, Herbert Arp, whom she met in Chesterland, Ohio, they built a life and had a family of five children together. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing her.

In addition to her parents, William, and Edla Harmon she was preceded by her beloved sisters, Alice Harmon of Chardon, Ohio, and Alma (Tom) Harris of Missouri.

Left to cherish the many memories include her beloved husband, Herbert Arp; loving children, Peggy (Sam) Truitt of Florida, Dale (Gloria) Arp of Tennessee, Jeffrey (Susan Brochak) Arp of Ohio, Brenda (Josh) McNeely of Tennessee, and Rebecca Walters of Tennessee; thirteen grandchildren, Casey Arp of Florida, Lisa Plouffe of Florida, Robin Somolinski, Randall Arp, Jesse Arp, Tommy Arp, Derek Arp, and Kristin Arp all of Ohio, Brittany Evans and Brandy Crutchfield of Tennessee, Joseph Chalkley of Louisiana, Dakota Walters, Devin Walters of Tennessee and sixteen great grandchildren.

Family and friends will gather from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2022, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home.
