James Robert “Pops” Hale, 64, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2021.
He was born on September 24, 1956, in Cleveland, Tennessee to the late Bobby and Melvine Rogers Hale. Throughout life, Pops had a great love for his family and friends. He was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Delano, Tennessee and enjoyed spending his time fishing and at the dirt tracks. One of his most memorable times, were spending the many hours apart of the wagon train. A lover of life, Pops will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Bobby and Melvine Hale, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Hale.
Left to cherish the many memories include his beloved wife of forty-six years, Ms. Nancy Shelton Hale; two sons, Larry (Tammy) Hale and Jamie (Lisa) Hale; grandchildren, Ashley Hale, Brandon Hale, Jessica Hale, Brandon Lankford, Richard Hale, Tiffany Hale, Angela Gann, Ashley Courtney, Aaron Courtney, Amber Courtney, and Dustin Weatherly; siblings, Mike (Kaye) Hale, Danny (Amy) Hale, and Kathy (Derek) Bell. Numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of special friends also survive.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Crossroads Baptist Church with Dr. Richard Mason officiating. Interment will follow the service in wagon train fashion to Delano Cemetery with Lonnie Stinnett, Larry Hale, Richard Hale, Mike Gann, Aaron Courtney, Dustin Weatherly, and Matt Armour serving as pallbearers.
His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
