James Edward “Jim” Sizemore, 76, of Delano, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2021, surrounded by his beloved family.
Jim was born on May 28, 1945, in Pineville, Kentucky to the late Edward and Alice Patterson Sizemore. A man of many talents, Jim was a well thought of handyman that could build or fix anything imaginable. He had a great love for his family and took the highest care of the families he served throughout the forty-one years at Woodmere Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan. One of the many but most cherished memories would be his talent in the kitchen. He was a great cook but even greater family man. The greatest attribute accomplished in life would be that of his family. Jim loved spending time with each of them and will be missed by everyone blessed to have been in his presence.
In addition to his parents, Edward and Alice Sizemore, he was also preceded in death by his stepsons, Keith and Harold J. Cooper along with many siblings.
Left to honor his legacy include his beloved wife of fourteen years, Ms. Frances Sisum Cooper; children, James A. (Rebecca) Sizemore, Holly Sizemore; stepdaughters, Cynthia Cooper, and Theresa Cooper; sister, Shirley Sizemore; brother-in-law, Melvin (Linda) Sisum; eleven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2021, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home of Benton. Entombment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery with his family serving as pallbearers.
His family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
