Joe Rodriguez

Teofilo Ignacio “Joe” Rodriguez, 64, beloved father, uncle, son, brother and grandfather, was called to his eternal resting place on Tuesday, February 14, 2023.

Joe was born in San Antonio, TX, on July 31, 1958, to the late Servando and Maria Elena Vasquez Rodriguez.

He resided in Cleveland, TN., most of his life.  Professionally, he was a welder at Reinsmans for many years.  In the years after, he found his true calling in being a stay-at-home father figure to numerous children.  He was a big kid at hear and thoroughly enjoyed watching cartoons and old westerns in his free time.  Joe was truly an outgoing and funny man with a heart of gold.  Though his health journey was challenging, he never lost his sense of humor, he would always crack jokes with his grown children and would make silly faces with his young grandkids.  Joe was a selfless, loving man and was always willing to help those in need.  He was one of a kind.

In addition to his parents, Servando, and Maria Elena Vasquez Rodriguez, he was preceded by his brothers, John Vasquez, and Jesus Rodriguez; nieces, Samantha Pratt, and Alicia Rodriguez; nephew, Skyler Godfrey and beloved, Lucy Stinnett.

Left to cherish the many memories include his loving children, Brianna (Jason), Chloe, Cooper and Jesse Joe; fiancé, Tammy; grandchildren, Nayeli, Daniel and Jason Ray Maldonado; siblings, Servando, Richard, Thomas, Carlos, Michael, Marylou and Maria Adelina Rodriquez.  Several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and a host of friends also survive.

 “A father like you is rare, one of a kind, one so generous, smart and kind.  A father like you is what everyone needs, full of smiles and laughter, always doing great deeds.  Nothing can replace a father like you, but when you get to heaven, God will be lucky to have you, too.”

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2023, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home.

Family and friends will gather from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
