Johnnie S. Ledwell, 83, of Benton, departed this life peacefully on January 28, 2023, at a local hospital.
She was born on August 8, 1939, in Benton, Tennessee to the late James L. and Nettie Bazzell Parker Sr.
Ms. Ledwell was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, a faithful and loving grandmother, and great-grandmother, and was an excellent cook. She was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, James and Nettie Bazzell Parker Sr., she was preceded by her beloved husband, Bill Ledwell; siblings, James L. Parker, Hubert Parker, Willie Ray Parker Sr., Harry Parker, and Juanita Dacus.
Left to cherish the many memories include her beloved daughter, Michelle Runyon, Rebecca Cass, Kevin (Debbie) Key, Jeff (Ann) Harrod, and Anthony (Haley) Ledwell; sister, Mary (Buddy) Waters. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Reverend Lowell Hicks and Pastor John Cain officiating. A committal service will be held privately at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Family and friends will gather from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
