Joyce Dean McMahan, 84, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Floyd Medical Center in Rome, GA. She was the former president of the National Federation of the Blind in Tucumcar, NM. She loved to quilt and color.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis McMahan; son, Jack E. Allen; daughter, Mitzi Creekmore; grandson, Anthony Bradford; parents, Joby and Ellie Roberson Hysinger; special friend, Irene Allen.
She is survived by her children, Mark (Teresa) Allen; daughter-in-law, Wilma Allen; son-in-law, Ricky Creekmore all of Benton, TN; stepson, Clay McMahan of New Mexico; grandchildren, Joseph Allen, Jared Allen, Matthew Allen, Aaron Bradford, all of Benton, TN, Kenny (Amanda) Bradford of Cleveland, TN; Bethany (Landon) Brady of Adairsville, GA; great-grandchildren, Cody Bradford, Lilli Bradford of Cleveland, TN, Emily Bradford of Vonore, TN, Addison Brady of Adairsville, GA; special friends, Heather Sanders, Maggie Crabtree, Buddy and her friends at The Gardens of Rome in Rome, GA. Several nieces, nephews and extended family members also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Higgins Funeral Home in Benton, TN with the Pastor Edith Blair and Bishop John McCann officiating. Interment will be Sunday, May 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in McMinn Memory Gardens in Athens, TN.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the funeral home prior to the service
