Judy E. Wilson

Judy E. Wilson, 75, of Benton, departed this life peacefully at home on November 18, 2024, with her daughters and grandchildren close to her side.

She was born on September 11, 1949, in Benton, Tennessee, to the late Matt and Lois Allen Cummings.

Throughout life, Mrs. Judy was a dedicated and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who loved everyone that had the blessing of knowing her. She was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church for 50 years. 

A few of her fondest memories include watching the red birds and hummingbirds, spoiling her grandchildren and enjoyed playing cards and board games with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Matt and Lois Allen Cummings, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Paul “Scrub” Wilson; grandson, Masan Trentham; sister, Thelma Kolar; brother, Kenneth Howard.

Left to cherish the many memories include her loving daughters, Sherri (Gerald) Crump, Jennifer Serrano, and Christy (Arthur) Trentham; grandchildren, Jasmine Serrano, Jared Serrano, Corey (Jana) Crump, La Rae (Eric) Rodden; siblings, Linda Lynch and Newell Cummings. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2024, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Pastor Homer Roberts and Pastor Tony Garrett officiating. Interment will follow at Benton Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends will gather from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family would like to give thanks to Hearth Hospice of Cleveland. As well as a special thanks to Julie Martin, a close friend as well as an RN, who stayed by Judy’s side and assisted Judy the hours before, during and after her passing.

The family also wants to give recognition to a special niece, Senia Mashburn, who also stayed by Judy’s bedside and gave love and support to the family.
