Laina Phillips, beloved wife and mother, 51, of Old Fort, passed away suddenly early Thursday morning, July 23, 2020, at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was a beloved school teacher at South Polk Elementary School, a member of First Baptist Church of Benton and a board member for the Boys and Girls Club of the Ocoee Region. Laina enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and every child she was blessed to come in contact with. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
She leaves behind her husband of 33 years, Tracy Phillips; loving children, Will (Tab) Phillips, Luke (Christina) Phillips and Seth (Sara) Phillips; beloved grandchildren, John and Mark Phillips and Maggie Price; parents, Howard and Linda Lynch; siblings, Tim (Terri) Lynch, Patricia (Robert) Nelms, Amy (Tracy) McAbee, Amanda (Terry) Rose and Sarah (Jackson) Daniel. Several nieces, nephews and a host of friends also survive.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Mountain Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Robbie Speights officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Blake Lynch, Alex Lynch, James Nelms, Samuel Nelms, Isaac Burchfiel and Caleb Rose serving as pallbearers.
Her family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service at the church.
