Lowell D. Bailey

August 23, 1939 — April 22, 2020

Lowell D Bailey, 80, passed away on Wednesday April 22, 2020.  He was born August 23, 1939, in Benton, the son of the late Everett and Pearl Porter Bailey; siblings, E. P. Bailey, Ralston Bailey.

He was a Class of 1958 graduate of Polk County High School, and a member of Old Ocoee Baptist Church, having previously been a member of Oak Grove for several years.

Lowell served his country in the Navy and worked as a welder for many years. He was a lifelong member of Iron Workers local union. He loved to farm, make gardens, plant and take care of his fruit trees. He was a most talented musician, and able to play practically any stringed musical instrument there was.

He was married to Frances Talbott, and they were parents of two daughters, Christy (Chris) McFarland and Julie (Justin) Hawkins; two granddaughters, Katie McFarland and Kara McFarland Owens; one sister, Marian Presswood.

A private graveside service will be conducted on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Oak Grove Cemetery.
