Peggy Ann Beard

Peggy Ann Beard, 77, of Benton, departed this life peacefully on December 23, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on December 7, 1946, in Dayton, Tennessee, to the late Ruby Brewster Cronan and Arthur W. Jewell.  Peggy was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Delano, TN.  She was of the Baptist Faith who loved the Lord and lived her life with the desire to please him, she also loved her family, friends and enjoyed her years as a housewife and Mother.

In addition to her parents, Ruby Brewster Cronan and Arthur W. Jewell, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, R. J. Cronan; siblings, Margret (Bill) Swafford, Ema Freeman, and Shirley Styles.

Left to cherish the many memories include her beloved husband of 59 years, Jack C. Beard; loving daughter, Karen R. (Brandon) Dilbeck; grandchildren, Keegan Freeman, and Carson Dilbeck; brother, Stanley Cronan and brother-in-law, Ronnie Styles.  Several nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends also survive.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Benton Memorial Gardens with Dr. Richard Mason officiating.  Brandon Dilbeck, Keegan Freeman, Shane Styles, Tony Beard, T. R. Stone and Stanley Cronan will serve as pallbearers.
