Stephanie Marie Sparks Owens

Stephanie Marie Sparks Owens, 29, of Delano, departed this life peacefully on October 20, 2022.

Throughout life, Stephanie was a loving, devoted, and caring friend to everyone who had the privilege of getting to know her.  She loved the Lord and attended Community Fellowship, where she enjoyed every moment spent with her church family.  A 2012 graduate of Polk County High School, she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa at Cleveland State Community College and then received the Presidential Scholarship at Tennessee Wesleyan University.  While attending Cleveland State, she was selected 2 years in a row for Who’s Who Among Students at American Universities and Colleges.

A few of her fondest memories include getting engaged at the beach in 2016 to her future husband, whom she loved dearly, shopping and getting her nails done, spending time with her students in her classroom, whom she adored, and was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs. Though her time on Earth was short, her love will remain forever in the hearts of each of us.

She was preceded by her paternal grandparents, Donald and Betty Nicholson, Sr., and maternal grandparents, Cleaston and Louise Sparks; and grandmother-in-law, Carolyn Fine.

Left to cherish the many memories include her beloved husband, Garrett Taylor Owens; loving parents, Donald “Jamey” Nicholson Jr., and Sherry Sparks; special aunt, Mandy Housley; and cherished four-legged fur baby, Oliver.  Several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Underwood officiating.  Interment will follow at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.

Family and friends will gather from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, prior to the service at the funeral home.
