Willa Mae Wilson, 88, of Ocoee, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2020.
She was a retired school teacher who loved to travel and often sought out good cuisine. With her wonderful husband, Buford Wilson, they owned and operated Wilson’s General Merchandise Store in Ocoee for over 40 years. They were well known in the local community.
She had an infectious laugh, a great sense of humor and helpful nature towards her kids and grandkids, who she supported in numerous ways.
Willa was born on March 21, 1932 to the late, Martin T. and Dora Kilpatrick Raper.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Buford Wilson; grandson, Joshua Wilson; siblings, Clem Raper, Glen Raper, Bill Raper, Mary Lou Anderson, Blanche Boring and Lois Holloway.
Survivors include her beloved children, Marty (Linda) Wilson, Teresa Wilson, Carmella (Rick Jones) Wilson, Jeff (Rhonda) Wilson and Dr.’s Glenn (Virginia) Wilson; grandchildren, Daniel Wilson, David Wilson, Mary Keith, Chris Wilson, Rebekah Wilson, James Wilson, John Wilson, Angel Wilson, Jonathan Hall, Heather McLaughlin, Tenisha Miller, Cameron Wilson, Cody Wilson, Luke Wilson, Noah Wilson, Sarah Wilson and Micah Wilson; siblings, Jack Raper and Charlie Raper; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2020 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Dill Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.
