William Louis “Bill” Cross, 56, of Chatsworth, GA., departed this life peacefully on May 11, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family.
He was born on December 3, 1967, in Benton, Tennessee, to the late William and Mary Ellen Vry Cross.
Throughout life, Bill was a faithful family man and had an answer for everything. He was an avid Tennessee Volunteer fan. He was employed with Pilgrim’s Pride for more than 30 years, where he served as maintenance manager. A few of his enjoyments included hunting, fishing, golfing, his truck, and spending genuine time with his family.
In addition to his parents, William, and Mary Ellen Cross, he was preceded in death by his sister, Kelly Johnson; and grandmother, Gussie Cronan.
Left to cherish the many memories include his beloved wife Cheryl Dowdle Cross; cherished children, Courtney Cross, and Kristin Cross; siblings, Ginger Inman, Betty Burger, Shelly Cross, Joe Cross, and Charles Cross. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends also survive.
A Remembrance of Life service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2024, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Pastor Floyd Boggess officiating. Interment will follow at Old Ocoee Cemetery, with his family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Family and friends will gather from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
