William “Frankie” Wilcox, 75, of Reliance, reached his heavenly home and was reunited with his loving wife of 54 years, Robbie Wilcox. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends.
In 1964, Frankie and Robbie were married and spent a life-time serving the Greasy Creek community. They ran Rob’s Grocery, Hungery Bear Deli and The Big Game Check-In in Reliance for over 20 years. Frankie also ran his own dry-wall business, where he earned the name “Plaster Man.” Frankie was a proud member of Fairview Baptist Church. In his younger days, he was sponsored by Kawasaki motors when he rode dirt bikes and held the Greasy Creek Hill Climb.
Frankie had many talents and hobbies. He could usually be found at his saw mill, garden or at the flea markets. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers, buddies and grandchildren. On weekends if Frankie and Robbie weren’t camping, they could be found at the softball field. Frankie was the manager of the Greasy Creek softball team, where they brought home many wins. Frankie was also known for spoiling the children at church with watermelons and cantaloupes in the summer. He had a huge heart, and was always the first to lend a hand to anyone in need by hosting benefits, actions and yard sales. He had a joking and loving personality. You knew he liked you when he aggravated the far out of you. Frankie had a special talent for brightening up any room.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Carrie Wilcox; brothers, Loyd Wilcox, Boyd Wilcox, Billy Gene Hedden and Roy (Gail) Wilcox; sisters, Juanita (J.R.) Garrett and Mary Ann (W.C.) Campbell.
Survivors include his beloved daughters, Ruth Ann (Floyd) Taylor and Rose Anna (David) Sosebee; adored grandchildren, Alex (Makayla) Taylor, Matthew (Ashley) Hammons and McKinley Sosebee; great-grandchildren, Eli and Abigail Taylor; siblings, Geneva (Robert) Frank, Melvin (Lara Mae) Wilcox, Loranza (Ray) Frank and Eddie Wilcox; sisters-in-law, Ruby Wilcox, Nancy Jane Hedden and Linda (Roger) Calvert; special friends, Billy Ray and Linda Goforth.
